Joyful tears

I have been lucky enough to have been able to nurse Tucker his whole life. I'm sad and proud right now that those days are coming to an end. We're down to nursing 2 times a day...when he gets up and before bed. However last night was the last time I will nurse Tucker before bed. And in a couple days, the last time I'll nurse him ever~ Makes me cry just sitting here thinkng about it.

Everyone that knows me, knows that I am a big breastfeeding supporter. And thankfully I was able to nurse Tucker this long. The advantages of breastfeeding for Baby and Mom are amazing. I am so glad that I was able to provide Tucker with the nourishment that was customized for him. The thing I am going to miss most is holding him close while he grows right there in my arms.

I would not have been able to nurse him for this long if it hadn't been for the support of Andy. Having your husband share the same priorities, goals, and decisions when it comes to breastfeeding, makes it so much easier. Thank you so much my sweet husband!

AMEN Sister! You said it exactly right. Support is so needed in breastfeeding because it isn't easy, especially in the beginning. I was the same way with Jacob...I cried the last time I fed him before bed and then a week later, the last time I fed him in the morning too. It is wonderful that you were able to do it this long.

We are down to 3 feedings per day with Luke. I'm hoping to drop the middle of the day one in the next couple of weeks, then work on the hardest two!

Ahh, this made me cry. I am still nursing Gage, and I love it so much. It is such an amazing time between mom and baby. Quick question, I am still nursing him 4 times a day. 7am, 11 am, 3:30pm and 7pm before bed- When did you go to three feedings a day and then two? I don't know if I should cut out that 3:30 feeding and just give him a snack (Gerber puffs, teething crackers etc.) I don't know if he is ready to go that long in between feedings. Did you ever put your milk in a cup? Sorry, lots of questions.
